You should also consider the General Medical Council (GMC) as part of your checklist.

The GMC controls entry to the List of Registered Medical Practitioners ("the medical register"). The Medical Act 1983 (amended) notes that, "The main objective of the General Council in exercising their functions is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public."

We urge you to make sure you choose a qualified surgeon for any procedure you are considering. Look for the accreditations and choose wisely.
